Scope of work:
In this project, Paragon Security was contacted by a Harlem residential building that was having troubles opening and closing a lounge door. The client informed us that the door to the lounge, equipped with an Avigilon Alta access control reader, was not latching properly. Without a properly closing and latching door, the room was left unsecured and open at all times–posing a security and access risk for tenants and staff utilizing the space. The Paragon team dispatched to uptown Manhattan quickly, arriving at the Harlem apartment building ready to diagnose and solve the problem. Upon arrival, our technician quickly realized that the latch was not aligned properly with the strike plate. We deepened the strike plate by 3.5cm to create enough clearance for the latch and then filed the latch bolt to ensure precise alignment. This resolution solved the locking issue with ease, allowing the door to lock properly and restore security to the lounge for tenants and staff.
