Paragon Security & Locksmith completed a comprehensive video intercom modernization project for a residential building in Brooklyn Heights, transitioning from an outdated analog intercom system to a state-of-the-art ButterflyMX IP video intercom platform. Our team managed the complete installation of the client-provided ButterflyMX system, including custom fabrication of a stainless-steel mounting plate to seamlessly cover the previous intercom footprint and maintain a professional exterior appearance. The project involved running new wiring infrastructure throughout the building to support the IP-based system and integrating the new intercom with existing door hardware for both front entrance and vestibule doors. Our technicians configured the system for simultaneous door release functionality, with intelligent timer-based control for the vestibule door to enhance security and convenience. This upgrade transforms building access management, allowing residents to answer calls and grant entry remotely via smartphone while providing video verification of visitors—a significant enhancement over the previous analog system that required in-unit answering stations.
