Scope of Work: 

In this project, Paragon installed child window guards at a Tribeca condominium. After taking thorough measurements of the windows of the condo, our team installed ten custom aluminum child window guards throughout the apartment. In New York City, the requirement for child guards (window guards) on windows is regulated under the NYC Health Code Section 131.15 and enforced by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). These regulations include mandatory installation on any apartment where a child 10 years of age or younger resides or when a tenant requests them. They are required on all windows except windows on the first floor with a fire escape, windows leading to a fire escape, and windows in public hallways or spaces not accessible to children. The Paragon team follows these regulations expressly during our installations, including ensuring that all window gates and guards are labeled “NYC Approved” by the DOHMH. This installation ensures safety for the tenants and keeps the building up to all housing safety codes.
