Swiftlane Intercom and Access Control for a Brooklyn Residential Building

Scope:

Paragon Security & Locksmith began by installing a Swiftlane X IP video intercom at the building's main entrance, fabricating a custom stainless-steel plate to seamlessly cover the footprint left by the old intercom door station. With this upgrade, residents gained the superior capability of answering their intercom through Swiftlane's mobile app from anywhere.

Throughout the building, we replaced five existing access readers at critical entry points: the vestibule door, gym, stairwell service door, storage area, and bike room. By tracing and utilizing the existing wiring infrastructure, we minimized installation impact while maintaining clean aesthetics. Each resident received a Swiftlane KeyFob—encrypted, non-cloneable, and non-duplicable—eliminating the security risks associated with traditional keys that can be easily copied.

The front door received comprehensive hardware enhancements for improved safety and functionality. We replaced the existing handle and installed a motion sensor with dedicated new wiring for reliable exit detection. The existing push-to-exit button was reconnected to simultaneously cut power to both the maglock and strike, ensuring smooth tenant egress and preventing the door from jamming. An exterior key switch was added to provide emergency override capability, allowing immediate disable of both the maglock and strike to bypass the intercom and access control system when necessary. The vestibule door received a new protection plate for added durability.

For areas requiring traditional key access, we installed three standard cylinders keyed alike and provided 70 keys. Our team handled all programming, system integration, and thorough testing to ensure seamless operation across all access points. We provided comprehensive staff training on the Swiftlane Premium software platform, empowering management to confidently utilize all system capabilities. Paragon continues to provide remote monitoring and IT support to ensure optimal system performance. The installation includes a two-year manufacturer's warranty on all Swiftlane equipment and a one-year labor warranty.
